Accomplishments as of December 2010

  • 30 women artisans from Al Marfa, Hamim, and Fujeirah have directly benefited this project.
  • More than 180 individual products have been designed through ATA’s product development with an international designer. These products were then exhibited at the International Palm and Date Festival held in Abu Dhai in November 2010.
  • 8 employees from the Khalifa Fund were trained in product development process and product review, how adults learn and learning styles, quality control and developing packaging materials, costing and pricing, using the internet as a tool for market research, merchandising and display, and in tailoring an effective training plan.

Current Needs

This project seeks additional funding to expand its work to many more artisans in UAE an implement new activities: product development and design, marketing mission trips,international trade shows, and business practices.
