Building on its experience successfully working with artisans in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, ATA will help the Iraqi women make the transition from a command to market based economy. The training will also utilize materials from ATA’s flagship “Market Readiness Program,” which has been providing business and design training in a classroom setting at the New York International Gift Fair for the past 15 years. The training will focus on topics related to how to develop a product line, global market trends, identifying buyers, marketing your product, and costing and pricing for profit.
ATA will deliver the live training remotely via the Internet from its home office in West Hartford, Connecticut. On the ground facilitation and logistics will be handled by the U.S. State Department.
