Recently ATA was honored by the 2011 New York International Gift Fair’s “SustainAbility: design for a better world®” as one of seven exhibitors whose “materials or production processes are environmentally-friendly”¦and corporate philosophies are socially responsible, philanthropic or fair-trade oriented.” Specifically, singled out was ATA’s project in the Wei Nain region of Colombia. Funded by the Walmart Foundation, WAYUU women artisans collect the plastic bottles and then create decorative crocheted sleeves.
