A Look Back at March 2023

Happy Ramadan, Easter and Passover to those who celebrate around the world!! Welcome to our third Aid to Artisans Monthly e-letter! We hope you enjoy reading about our project highlights from March.

We worked with youth in Mali under USAID’s Peacebuilding, Stabilization, and Reconciliation program, where we undertook livelihood-building activities in the handicraft sector that will also improve youth’s resilience to violent extremism. From March 28-30, our ATA Mexico team, in collaboration with Ethics Foods and project partner Dondrill Glover from Ahmesa, attended the SIAL America tradeshow in Las Vegas for the very first time! Dondrill told us that “Sial Americas is America’s only Comprehensive Food Industry Tradeshow & Conference. SIAL America debuted in Las Vegas in March 2022, uniting the entire food community, and showcasing all food and beverage categories to key importers, food service companies, distributors, retailers, and wholesalers.”

Delicious Tamula products were featured, including salsas, jams, and honeys, all handmade by Mayan women from Yucatán under our Manos Vivas II project.

“Attendees were super excited to try them all and shared such opinions as “ Mmm this is delicious” and many others.” – Dondrill Glover
