Door To Tibetan Arts company exhibiting during the Sichuan Market Development stakeholder meeting

From June 25 -26, 2015, Aid to Artisans (ATA) implemented a Stakeholder Meeting for members of the artisan value chain in Chengdu, China. 77 Tibetan business people attended the meeting which much exceeded the expected number of participants. 31 companies participated in the design competition for best craft product line, held on June 26. The group of 400 Qiang women textile artisans and embroiderers took away the winning prize.

Charito Kruvant, CEO of Creative Associates, and Bill Kruvant, President of Creative Learning, were keynote speakers. They both expressed great satisfaction at the high level of interest in the Sichuan Market Development (SMD) project by the Tibetan craft entrepreneurs of Sichuan. They emphasized the great interest by international buyers for craft products made by artisans of Sichuan.

The Stakeholder Meeting was followed by private sessions held by Creative Associates business training specialists on June 27, with artisan enterprises interested in assistance with their business plans. It was also followed by a Design Coaching Mentoring tour conducted by ATA Designer Consultant Sophie Sauzeat. More detailed on this tour will be found in our next Newsletter Edition.
